Grinding a very small Radius

Set up basics

To grind a precise radius you need to accurately position to the swing center. To do this we use a dynamic process instead of the pivot center Finder.
The old center post Pivot center finder mounts in the pivot hole and projects a center up to the wheel.
Use the tool your going to grind in the collet, to position the grind.
Also we have found that if you can see it the project becomes alot easier to set up.
Use a microscope.

Small Rads are becoming very easy.
The new lapped in dovetail  slides on the x and y Axis table assemblies , combined with a magnified view of the position  make diaing in the radius attachment a breeze.

The pivot center / wheel can be easily dynamically located and the tool set with a great degree of repeatability usung the gradated dials.

True and dress the wheel, Load and time the tool, with indexing collar locked in.
Set wheel at height and desired angle to be ground Rotate Tower CCW 2 Degrees.
Center the Upper Y, (tool in the collet) then move off the tool radius 1/2 inch =.250
Bring the wheel at angle to the tool touch off
Rotate the Radius spindle clockwise slowly backing off upper X is necessary (dont crash the wheel)
When fully rotated 90 degrees feed in upper X keeping and eye on things
Your there !
